And in all ways, we are becoming a House of Prayer

In general, our mission together as followers of Jesus is To Make Christlike Disciples. This is worked out with a specific vision:

  • To minister to the neighborhood by being a conduit through which God pours out His blessings.

  • To be a place that talents and the calling of God are nurtured to places of service.

  • To be a sending place where those that have encountered God go out to encounter those who have not.

  • To be generous and plant and birth churches by all means possible.

  • To be a House of Prayer.

A beautiful picture for our church that we have drawn from nature is that of the Banyan tree. Banyan's develop from tiny seeds that fall into the cracks of branches, trunks and roots of other trees. Once the seeds germinate, they send roots straight to the ground from the host branch. This provides support to the branch and allows it to keep growing farther out from the trunk. What started out as a tiny seed eventually spreads until one tree becomes a forest of connected roots and branches. In the same way, Jesus spoke of the kingdom of God as a seemingly insignificant seed that grows to become something of great substance and the church as one body with many parts that are all connected in order to transport his presence to a hurting world. Only as we stay connected as the body of Christ and work together as a united force can God's mission be accomplished in the world.

Just as fire exists for burning, so the church exists for mission!
